Weather unit and check in

Greetings families!

We are in the midst of our unit on Weather. Hopefully, your child has been discussing weather and checking in each evening and recording the data for their chosen city.

We just finished an intro on air. The focus was on the idea of testing . Two characteristics of air that we discovered were that air takes up space and has mass.

A quiz was given last week and sent home today.
Their homework tonight is to share this with you.

We are now moving into air pressure and testing it. We have built barometers and are reading about them and changes in air pressure. This leads to isobars and wind.

We will check for understanding later this week on these concepts.

Thanks for your support at home!
Please take the time to call your children in if the TV is on and the weather forecast is on.

Have a great afternoon.

Robotics--please share

Many of our students are involved in Robotics and are competing this week.

Good luck to all!!

One group is asking that we share their video. Part of their rubric entails sharing, so they are tracking views.

Please share far and wide.

This particular project has to do with using non-toxic formulas to deter flies from livestock.
They even got a provisional patent!!

Here is a quote from the Robowolves:

This year is Animal Allies, and our project is to help cows, bees, and humans with our product, MOO-ve Fly.  Please view this video about our project, and share it.
Thank you for your support, and I hope that you agree with telling flies to moo-ve.
                                                                               Thank you,

We are now accepting donations of games to be used for indoor recess days. These should be short and easy to implement. (cards, Jenga, Connect 4, etc.)

If you have any to donate, please send with your child to give to Mrs. Rosa, or drop off for Mrs.Rosa at the office.

Thank you!!
Happy New Year!
